Well guys, I have been captivated by another hobby... slingshot hunting. For those of you not familiar with the world of cattys (in relatively new too) outside of Daisy and the like, there are very powerful slingshots used successfully in hunting medium and small game.

Now for my question... What would you guys suggest in the way of a knife design for small to medium game? My experience is mainly in larger game and blades so I'd like to hear some suggestions from those with more of a background than I. So far I've started something that resembles a Case Sodbuster...

Thank you in advance.

I like the bladeshape, but personaly don't like the half round space between the handle and edge.
I'd continue from the end to the deepest point of the round space in a flowing line.
I wouldn't make it to thick

I like the design, looks handy.

Danka bekannte. The steel is 3 3/2 and I think you might be right on the notch near the blade.

3/32" is a good starting point, I wouldn't want anything thicker than that for sure. Grind the bevels right up to the spine and taper the blade all the way to the tip, it will cut very well. A feature I like a lot on small game/bird and trout knives is to start at the butt and grind a distal taper allll the way down the entire blade. That puts the weight/balance firmly in your hand and makes for a very keen slicer. Be sure to drill your holes in the tang while it's still flat.

Profile another one just like it without the finger notch and see which you like more. Ask ten people and they'll likely be split on which is better. ;)

Another suggestion is, if you like S30V, try S35VN. It will get really sharp and holds an edge well. I get it in .060", which is just perfect for B&T knives. For a carbon B&T, you can't beat W2.
