Hi Hogs. Would you all like to see a small INFI back-up-blade? Maybe a chisel or asymetrical 3 or 3.5 inch blade?? Whatcha think?

Why chisel?

And the Active duty is already that size...........so is Game Warden...and Basic 3.

Chisel or an asymmetrical blade. The chisel is an easier blade to manufacture, and sharpen. This idea won't fly but at least i asked, mutha!! :D

Post reported.:D

I would like to see the BA3 blade profile make a come back. Or something along the lines of an INFI Little Mischief. I personally don't care for chisel grinds.

Oh man, talk about my Dream knife(that will never happen)!

Take .50 to .75 off the handle and Blade and it would be as perfect a woods/hunting /EDC knife as you could get. Never happen though.

I don't get it, it's darn near perfect in design. Why not give the people what they want? Is it because it may put a damper on the ones in the secondary market? A possible solution would be to tweek the design a bit, and that can be kept to a minimum. The SHBA is another blade I would like to see make a come back... jeeze, ok, I'm really dreaming now.:p

I agree about the handle length of the BAIII, love the design, but that handle is too large for the blade.

I have seen a few with the butt ground off and they look great!

Every single time I get a quality neck knife or small fixed blade, it ends up in a drawer some place. For any knife under a 4" blade, I prefer a folder. Bring on the Busse folder!

i'll just point out that the shiva rex was designed as an operators back up blade for cqc. literally.

nothing I would EVER carry for anything remotely fight related, but I'm not an operator so what do I know.

I highly suggest a thinned out rat tail. put some grip tape over the handle or a really tight turks head knot and despite it's small guard it's very stable in the hand. it's very compact and fits into a pocket with a low profile sheath. It's worth thinning it out because it's 3/16" profile makes for a kinda thick fighter - I'm in the group that believes a knife meant to cut a person should be no thicker then a butchers knife, because that's exactly what it is, and what it needs to be able to do well.

double extra worth seeing if you could have the sr custom shop (if they even accept orders) do it for you.

Ya know, you're thinking makes a bit of sense, but I don't think it's the reason. For a LONG while there was a LOT of fervor over the original saber SFNO's. Boss didn't say muh about it and we started a death chat. Sure enough, without us expecting it boss announced a HOG only deep discount LE of 300 issues. It was great for those who didn't have any, bit it hurt the secondary market on originals.

It's all part of the trough, of course, but I don't think the secondary market figures hugely into Jerry's plans.

That said, the BAIII is nice, bit IMHO the handle was a bit long for the knife, and the belly was a bit stout. Seems like the Euro 4 might be the perfect small gen III knife.

For my money, though, the SHBA is the ticket.

Hey Greg, do you happen to have a Cultie? If not, you need to get yourself 1 or 4. :D

I've said it before, (and many will be in here to add their +1's soon) but the Cultie is the best (and most underestimated) design Busse has released in a while.

Actually, maybe I should start a thread asking people to name me another knife as cost-efficient, edc-friendly, and versatile as the Cultie over the past 2 years. I've owned a Cultie, BATAC, BAIII And my SHBA, and the Cultie and SHBA are the only ones still around. The straight handle on the Cultie worked better for me than the Gen III handle.

Chisel grinds suck because they require the blade to have a preferred handedness. Asymmetrical is better but I see no need for it.

That being said, you are describing knives that have already been made. The Police Recruit came with the standard asymmetric grind and ~3" blade. The Bard Warden and Skeleton Warden were right there with it. This is my custom Police Recruit and a BW:

The PR is about 0.25" thick and the BW was about 0.15" thick.

I like the Shiva bit not serrations.
A chisel or asymmetrical Busse would soon be in demand by collectors and folks who understand these grinds. :D

Spread the light....help me understand the Chisel grind:D
