I made this one for a friend and he told me that the handle was too long for this knife; I made him another to fit his girly hand. A common mistake, especially by newer makers is to build a knife with a handle that is too short; in my humble but very strong opinion a handle should be at least 4 1/2 inches regardless of how small the blade. The knife in these photos was taken in my hand which I regard as "average".
Stock removal from 1/8 inch 52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain throughout the blade.
Flat grind to a 400 grit belt finish followed by a cork belt
Heat treat scale left on the flats for contrast
Stabilized figured maple handle
Overall length: 7 1/2 inches
Blader: 3 inches
