Does anyone have a lead on a small(ish) mechanical hammer in the Virginia area? Shop space is somewhat limited. Under 100# ram would be ideal.

Check Craig's List and other traders as well as the websites of the VA Blacksmith's guilds ( Central, BGOP, Shenandoah, and Tidewater). There are often hammers for sale. There was one in Chesapeake and one in Chesterfield recently, IIRC.

Check out ABANA, IFORGEIRON, and the other blacksmith sites, too. There are regularly hammers for sale in their sales area.

Google "Power Hammers for sale in Virginia".

Since you are on the far side of the state, you might as well check West Virginia, too.

I would also suggest you check out the Iron Kiss hammers. They are really nice.

Thanks Stacy. Iron Kiss are sweet. I'm trying to keep the foot print to a minimum. I'd probably have to build a shed for the compressor. I don't know how it happened, but I've amassed a collection of woodworking machines. I've run out of room.

You know you can't leave a table saw and band saw alone together. Before you know it out pops a planer. Then one day you go out and a brand new lathe has appeared. It never ends. Machines are very prolific.

Sid, former owner of Little Giant has a freshly rebuilt 25 lb. His buddy Dave Sloan has a rebuilt 50 lb. They can ship these hammers.
