Small/Medium Traditional Knife?

I don't think I can recommend anything better than what's already been mentioned. I just wanted to stop in and say that if you get the Swayback Gent, I think you will love it.

Also, welcome to The Porch!
So far I'm liking the looks of the Swayback Gent the best, but I might end up buying some of the other suggestions as well. :D Thank you!

Welcome to the porch. Have you considered a Barlow? I've been carrying them for over 60 years & they're still my favorite pattern.
I currently have an Imperial Barlow made in the USA, but it's a little too big for me as a secondary knife. That being said, I can't stop drooling over the TC Barlows with a single sheepsfoot blade, the Lionsteel Dom, and the GEC 15. I really like the single blade ones with sawcut bone. I still will probably end up buying some of those knives.

Thank you, I really like the looks of that knife. I couldn't find any in CV, but I'm open to trying TruSharp.

You could probably find a 1980's made one in cv for about the same price as a new stainless one. Just look up case 62109x on the bay.

I also vote for a swayback gent or jack. I have one of the cv jacks and it's a real dandy. It's unused and I want to keep it that way, but I can tell you it sure would make an excellent edc. I've thought about getting one of the single blades in cv to use.

I'm looking forward to the clip blade GEC #14 due out soon - 3" closed

another worth a look is a Buck 309
I just took a look at the GEC #14 on Blade HQ. What a great looking knife! Do you know when they are coming out?

You might like the Case Medium Jack. It's slightly over 3¼" long closed.

I concur with all the suggestions :D

GEC is about to issue a large run of its 14 knife but with Clip blade instead of the Spear. In single blade format it's slim and light, carbon (all GECs are this nowadays...) So take a look at GEC's homepage for details

Also, CASE's Penknife in Yellow Delrin, cv or ss is a good inexpensive knife. Buck 309. Rough Rider's Mini Copperhead comes with Clip rather than Wharncliffe and CASE's Swayback Gent single blade. Their Half Whittler has stupidly gone over to 2 spring construction from its former single spring 2 blades, an error in my view but you could look into them.

I don’t think anyone’s mentioned it yet so far but what about a case slimline trapper? Might be a little bit bigger than what you’re looking for but single clip and very thin.

I can't offer anything new, but will say I have the Case Pen (in yeller), and it's a great size, right in between the two you mentioned... both of which I have as well. I also got one of the recent single blade 15's from GEC, and it's a nice slim knife. Here they are together.

I carried my mini trapper almost exclusively for about 8 months, but find myself recently going back to the pen. Its slim, sharpens easily, and slices really well.
