Small Natchez in Damascus from JW Bensinger

I recently had JW Bensinger make me a Damascus small Natchez bowie with Iron Wood scales. I was more then pleased with the blade and workmanship. I am new to custom knives and ordered a Kydex sheath for EDC. After a few uses, I noticed minute scratches under certain lighting on the patterned blade. I read up on kydex and realized this is not uncommon for that material. I called JW and he immediately told me that I could send the knife back and he would take the scratches out and re do the finish and send me a leather sheath fitted as I wanted at no extra cost. Being new to custom knives, I do not know if this is common with most makers but I can not say enough about my experience with JW Bensinger. He was honest, upfront and did an excellent job in getting me what I wanted and even when it was my mistake, he got me what I wanted. I would recommend JW to anyone who is looking for a very nice blade done the way you want. JW even let me pick out the handles I wanted from a suppliers stock. Again, an honest craftsman who knows his craft and will go the extra mile to get the buyer what they want. I will order again from JW Bensinger due to the great work on this blade and his wanting to make the knife what I wanted it to be. Thanks J for a great experience !!
