Small or Large Sebenza?

I've owned both these knives and like an idiot sold or traded them off. That was dumb and now I'm really regretting it. I've got to get another Sebenza.

Now I have to decide which one to get, the small or the large, I can only afford one. The Large fits my hand better, but it is much bulkier in the pocket (without the clip).
I really do like the large better, but it's size can scare people and the bulk in the pocket with slacks bothers me compared to the compactness of the small. Ughhhhhh!

Which one do you guys think I should get?

I have been through the same dilemma myself. After owning several of each, I think that the Large Sebenza is the way to go.:D

Get the large if it fits you better. In my experience when I have carried my larges, people are difused if its a graphic. All of a sudden, its size it not noticed because they are amazed that a knife has fancy designs on it.

I have both, But the large Wins :yawn::yawn: Rick :yawn::yawn:

Large for me, small doesn't fit my hands well.
When the large is too much I grab the Mnandi.

imo the large isnt that big, even if the blade/ratio handle is quite high.

I wouldnt want to spend that much on a 3" folder, frankly. And that extends all the way down to the 100 dollar range; I just cant take a knife that small seriously.

If you only carry around one knife (RICKSTER just cringed), I'd recommend the small. It does everything you want a pocketknife to do and looks great doing it.

HOWEVER - I've resigned myself to the fact that since I absolutely love the appearance and heft of the large , I'll carry one clipped either under my beltline or in a coat pocket or some other discreet location, AND carry a small slipjoint/SAK for small tasks - so as to not offend the gentle folk.

when im around sheeple i do the same thing, i IWB carry it with my belt over the clip...its invisible but there if you need it...i also have a vic cadet if something needs to get cut with out scaring people

Personally, I feel that the small is effective enough that I don't need a large.

I'm biased though as I'm in an office environment in a not so knife tolerant city.

If you have owned both and still can't decide which one to get, you are doomed. Which ever one you get, you'll want the other. Might as well pick one with the idea that a few years down the road, you will get the other.

If the knife is going to spend a lot of time in hand being used say for work I say go for the large. If it ends up being carried and used only a few times a day I say go for the small.

If I had to have only one Sebenza, it would be a Large Regular. The Small can be more socially practical in some "indoor" environments, though.

i like the large better as it feels (and is) bigger. the smaller one is better for office. both are great so I'd go with pvizenci's advice :)

Truer words were never spoken, errr, posted...

I too like the large better; however my small gets much more carry time due to working in an office environment. If I were forced to pick only one I'd go with the small just because I get the most use out of it.

The ssmall is a nice little knife.
The large is perfect :)
In pocket (jeans) you don't feel the extra weight and both are small enough when closed for easy carry.

Ask yourself the question: Which do I do more; carry the knife or use the knife?

I personally carry my knives more than I use them most of the time so I prefer the small Sebenza for ease of carry and how unobtrusive it is in the pocket. I also have smaller hands so the handle size of the small is fine for me.

However if I am going to be using my knife more, or if I had larger hands, I would prefer the Large Sebenza because it is such a great user. I actually don't find the large that much of a problem to carry clipped to the pocket of slacks. Your other option that DallasSTB suggested, and I do when carrying the Large, is to carry a SAK for use around people.

BUT if I was forced to pick one I would pick the small.

I forgot to add, my current edc now is an XM-18 which in terms of size and toughness is very similar to the large.
