Small or Large Sebenza?

i did not read all of the replies, so i will just give you my advice.

i currently edc a mnandi, small sebbie, and a large sebbie. mnandi for dress slacks, small for casual pants, and the large for denim. i, too, do not use the clip.

if you wear casual or dress slacks like me and i could only chose one knife, it would be the small. i cannot carry the small in the pocket of dress or casual pants. nor can i use the clip.

that is my advice. get the small.
:)

I love my large, it's also the most comfortable to hold. However, my small gets the most carry. It's such a convenient size, really thin, and just disappears in your pocket until you need it.

If the knife is going to spend a lot of time in hand being used say for work I say go for the large. If it ends up being carried and used only a few times a day I say go for the small.

+1 - the small is definately more sheeple friendly, but I could not use it for an extended period.

I like the large better because it's large enough to get my paw on to open it. The small Sebbie is pretty tough for me to hang onto while using my thumb to open the blade. If I had smaller hands the small Sebbie would be fine.

I just purchased a small Seb today to replace a large one I used in a recent trade, which, by the way I will never do again (even if it was to obtain a much sought after Busse). Eventually I'll replace the large one too, as it definitely has a place in my rotation. My next piece, however, is going to be the Professional Soldier. The more I submerse myself in the world of cutlery, the more I like CR Knives.

Yes, this is what we call a "dumbass thread"..

You've owned both, which do you like better.
Why would you ask us? I could care less..

What a lovely person you must be....:jerkit:

And by the way, it's couldn't care less, genius.

I don't know what the :jerkit: is doing at BF but I think I'd think several times before I used it as a comment on another member... :(

Lets try to stay on topic guys.. I've only ever owned a Small 21, A large would be nice im sure but for me personally the small is just perfect. If I need a bigger blade I just carry my fixed blade along with the small 21 :D

Personally, I've been carrying a Sebenza since early 2001. I thought that the Large was just more knife than needed in a folding package. I EDCd a Sm (reg, BG42) for Three years before seeing the light. Actually, I began carrying a Microtech LCC and I realized that the Sebenza is a better knife in pretty much every way, so I plucked a Lg. out of my stock ( I was a CRK dealer at the time) and never looked back. Since then (NOT including my dealer's stock) I have owned every flavor of Sebenza equaling around a dozen.

I've REALLY wanted to love the Sm. again, but it just has not worked for me. I have XL hands, so that certainly factors into it. The Sm. is well... small. And the Lg.... well... it just ain't that large.

I agree with the other "Large users." The Lg. is your "shiznit" knife and carry something else for the folks afraid of inanimate objects...like a SAK or a BM Griptilian 555HG.

I believe 100% that your body language says EVERYTHING and the knife says nothing. If your body language is less than 100% pure, your intentions may be observed as such. Personally, I try to engage these types in a conversation of just how great this thing (Seb) is and why I like it! For me it works almost every time... Probably not with the Fuzz though... To them, stealing from you is not immoral, it is their job. I actually had one say to me "Right and wrong is not my job. My job is to uphold the law and take your money."

Depends on your intended use. If this is going to be your primary (or only) EDC and you often have to handle bigger tasks, then you'd be better off with the Large. If you generally use your knife for smaller or more delicate tasks, or size is a concern for your wardrobe, then the Small is a better choice.

I have two primary EDCs, and they serve different purposes. My Small 21 is my true everyday go-to knife. I usually wear suits, and since I work in banking, there is obviously a very serious stigma toward weapons of any kind. The Small Seb can pass for a gentleman's pocketknife without too much of a problem, and its size and weight don't drag down my pants pocket or ruin the drape of my jacket. My larger EDC is an Al Mar Auto SERE, which is another animal entirely. It's larger, heavier (though not excessively so), and built almost as nicely as the Seb, and I do consider it an effective weapon (unlike the Seb, which is really not designed for that sort of thing). It also scares the heck out of people, since it has one of the loudest and most emphatic auto actions I've come across. Which, you know, might be useful someday.
