Honestly, I'm not sure. This is the second knife I made out of this steel. The first was an identical shape with a jade handle and engraved bolsters that I made for my mom, but she refuses to use it and just leaves it on the mantle to show people. :rolleyes:

(edit) Actually, I also made a hunter out of this damascus for a friend but I haven't gotten around to engraving it yet so it hasn't been sharpened or used either.

From the way they sharpen up, I'd say that steeling them should easily keep them sharp. I kept the RC a little low so they would be easier to maintain, as opposed to keeping an edge longer but being harder to sharpen.
