small piece of stabilized burl

Hi everyone,

Its been a while since I posted anything. I've been pretty busy studying at the University, but have managed to bang out a few blades here and there lately. Many thanks to Tom Kernan for showing me the ropes last year.

My hunting buddy gave me a couple loose deer horns that he and his father harvested. I knew his dad well before he died and wanted to surprise my friend with a hunting knife with a crown handle from one of his dad's horns. His father drilled holes in the horns for mounting them on the garage wall, and the best one has a hole about an inch out of place and at the wrong angle for a pin. So, I'd like cut the crown short and use a wood spacer of about 1-1.5 inches.

Does anyone have a small square piece of stabilized anything that would work for a full tang spacer? I can trade you for a set of G-10 scales. My son just started attending the community college, so paying two tuitions with my Gi Bill and my wife's salary doesn't leave anything left over for my hobbies, unless I scrounge.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I may have something laying around. Shoot me a PM or email me at erik.boese at verizon.net with your address and I'll send it to ya'. No need for a trade. Let me know the minimum size you need and if you have any color requirements.

I have some stabized bocote and walnut if that will help. Shoot me a PM if these would work.

SBuzek, I tried to contact you. However, the Bladeforums system kicked it back, stating I was a very bad person (literally). It didn't make any sense and was actually a little insulting. There wasn't anything wrong with my e-mail address, though, so it is a little confusing. Feel free to e-mail me at my blade forums user name @ yahoo.com

Has any one else had this problem?

Take care,
Brook
