So, I'm kinda interested in finding a small fixed blade that would sit in my pants pocket.

Any suggestions? What would becthe best overall length, that would carry comfortably?

Overall I'd recommend the frontier valley, coyote or the small pouter. Little under 7" overall. Fits really well in the pocket.

I carried this TOFERNER Celtic/Norse/"Viking" pocket/neck knife daily from 11-04-21 to 04/28/26, 24/7/365.25 (less about 2.5 hours shower time over the 5 years)
IMG_20240617_130101.jpgI modified the sheath, adding the tuck-in flap. The blade length is 58mm (same as a closed Vic SD Classic/Signature/Mini Champ).
Toferner has other Medieval style pocketable fixed blades. All are "Affordable". I paid under $20 for mine, with free (not "prime") shipping, on the "big river" site.
All have the "As Forged" finish. Several have leather wrapped handles. Blade steel is a good, tough, Czech carbon steel, with an excellent heat treat.
Admiittedly, I carried this one mainly as a neck knife, but I did carry it in my pocket a few times in the oem sheath, and on my belt, in a leather sheath I made for it.
On 04-28-26 I swapped the Toferner out for this David Mary "Itty Bity Bitey Birdie" (his model/pattern name) pocketable fixed blade that was gifted to me a couple years ago, by a generous member here. I don't know yet if I will carry the David Mary as long as the Toferner.

As you can see, I added a cord to the Kydex sheath for neck carry.

I do not have one yet, but CRKT makes a few small neck/pocketable fixed blades that are stainless.
The Mora Eldris might be another viable option.

There are a bunch of small knives in a box under my coffee table that are small enough for pocket carry. The latest is the BPS Aurora puukko. There are at least a couple of threads here on the subject of pocket fixed blades.
