Small Pocketknife

I really like that Case :D

Thanks, so do I.;) It has Cayenne Bone scales and is a good little knife. Here's a pic of it closed.

Whatever you do, go for a slipjoint. There is something about opening a knife slowly with two hands that calms down fears. The minute you have one handed opening and a pocket clip, the fear level goes up, no matter how unassuming the knife is otherwise.

i like the vic rectuit for my knife when i dont want to scare people. poping out a smf, recon 1 or my manix 2 has drawn a few eyes before. i have also looked at the vic cadet and they look like a great minus the fact their is no twezers or toothpick which i use.

Once I got over the basic ugliness of Spyderco knives, I decided they were kind of…cute. In an ugly sort of way. But they aren’t the knife I’d want to avoid stampeding the horses. Even a small Spyderco looks unconventional. Unconventional lives next door to scary.

Go for a small traditional slip joint with natural scales. Think Peanut, Jr. Stockman, Case Swayback Jack. Think stag, jigged bone, wood.

Since you’re carrying a ZT 0350, your public knife doesn’t have to be large.

I have this exact same knife in my pocket right now. For what the OP is looking for, I don't think you can do much better.

i like the chive. i currently carry a ss version. it locks and can open with one hand. if the looks bother you for the sheeply consider the rainbow version.

+1 on the Vic Tinker. Love mine had carried it for years then swapped it out for another Vic model. Recently started carrying the Vic Tinker again. I also carry a Rough Rider Gunstock Bone Whittler and a Case Amber Bone Stockman frequently. Really love the Case Stockman, it just feels good in my hand.

If you dont care about the $300 price tag I strongley recommend that you get the Strider PT 2 3/4 blade, 2.5 ounces and 6.5 overall when opened. Lightweight and perfect for EDC still tactical and heavy duty like your ZT 350 but not to big and scary to scare anyone ( and if you buy it make sure you get the flamed titanium handle it looks cooler  ).

Buck 309 "Companion". Been lovin mine since 1977. regards Henry

Gotta go with this recommendation. Small and light, yet very well made. Just big enough to get a good grip, but disappears into your pocket. You will have to do some sharpening, though.

Definitely a slipjoint. The Vic or Case suggestions are all excellent, and it boils down to personal choice.

I'd recommend the Vic Executive, as it's just a first class small slipjoint. It's for lightweight tasks only, but then again you're carrying a Zero Tolerance as well, so light and small for a backup is ideal.

I carry a one handed single blade every day (usually a Spyderco) and a Vic of some variety.

Case SBJ or Peanut would be good choices. I'm also a fan of the GEC #25 (3" closed, 2 1/8" main blade), GEC #33 (3 3/8" closed 2 1/2" main blade) and GEC #61 (3 5/8" closed 2 1/8" main blade). Each of the knives below are single spring knives so they're thin. The Cases have 2 springs but they are thin also. I carry a #33 pretty much everyday now, the 2nd from the left.

Here's some comparison pics with a Case SBJ, #33 Conductor and #61 Half Congress. The other 2 knives are #61 Courthouse Whittler (3 3/4" closed) and #53 Cuban Stockman (4 1/8" closed) and they're bigger knives.
