Small problem with new Power Plier

I just got a new Power Plier from Bayou LaFourche (great service BTW) and I have a few minor concerns. First off, the fine and med screwdriver tips weren't included. Instead, there are two nylon spacers installed. What's up with that? Also the leather sheath was riveted way off center on both ends and is totally goofy looking. This is my fifth Power Plier and thankfully it is the only one I've found to be unacceptable.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. :)

Regards,
Clay

Best bet is to call the fine folks at SOG 1-888-SOG-BEST, they should be able to help you out.
Best,
Rob

Will do, Rob. I was just kinda wondering if the nylon spacers were common on the new models. I've never seen such a thing.

Thanks,
Clay

Apparantly the spacers are a new thing, so you can customize your tool.

CH, Glad you figured that out.:) Am just curious, did you call SOG?

I did, just to find out. Apparently the new ones have the spacers to allow "customization"...

I E-mailed Loretta, and she gave a very quick and kind reply. No problems there.

Nonetheless I am not happy with the new Power Plier, IMHO the old model was better. The spacer thing is dumb in my opinion, and the leather sheath that I received was awful. Unacceptable all the way around for me.

No offense, but it's back to the Leathermans for me. Thankfully Roger at Bayou Lafourche has kindly accepted my request for a refund. I just can't see spending another $20 just to get this thing up to the level of the ones I bought five years ago.

Best regards,
Clay

Honestly? Powerlock at MSRP $79.95 would be a better bet... I have one, and just love it! Look up reviews on that tool, and you'll find that most agree with me.
The sheath? I'm sure it could be replaced, if you ask Loretta nicely.
Sorry to hear about your unhappiness.
Rob
