BoyNamedStacy - mind if I ask why you prefer the double lug? Is it purely for aesthetic reasons, or do you actually use it ambidextrously?

I do own both the Insingo and clip point 21 and a 25 and other clip points. But if My CRK Insingo isnt in my pocket most of the time the other knife I reach for is the ZT 0770 very similar blade. Ive just found them to be great user blades.
I still carry a clip point at times but the Insingo or ZT 0770 are about my favorite EDCs
I saw you ask about the double lug ... all my CRKs are double lugs ... I dont use it much but have been a few occassions it came in handy but some find it difficult to use so they save a little money going single.

Ultimately it's mainly an esthetics thing for me, although I have found it to come in hand a few times for left hand use. Personally I think it finishes off the look of the knife a little more than a single lug, something I'm sure many would disagree with. Some even say the double lug can catch on your pocket when pulling the knife in and out of the pocket but I can't say I've noticed this, though. I even wear them "skinny jeans" ;) ultimately it's a personal preference that I have, similar to not particularly caring for the blue or gold lugs. I'm just more of a double silver guy, I guess :)

I own both but prefer the Insingo. Both do anything I want/need them to do. I just prefer the feel and look of the Insingo.

I am just wondering how many voted for clip point and don't own an Insingo and vice versa. I would venture to say most Insingo owners also own clip points and not as much the other way around.

I second the double silver thumb stud motion. It is a TNK (True North Knives) exclusive.

I'm also interested in this...For those of you who voted for the clip version, is your choice based purely on aesthetics, or because you've used/owned the Insingo and still prefer the clip?

I voted clip and I only have the one CRK. I just can not bring myself to like the looks of the insingo, regardless of how the claims of utility goes. To me it looks like a pocketknife with a miniature kitchenknife blade. So for the moment(minds changes..) it would have to have lightsaber capabilities to make me pay the 350$.

So purely aesthetics, both closed and open.

I prefer the tip, and the look of the regular blade. The Insignio does a great job, its just fugly IMO.

Am I right in assuming it would be much easier to sharpen and maintain the Insingo edge compared to the clip?

Maybe a bit, I don't have the insingo, but I suspect it might have a more even edge. The clip gets more steep/convex from belly to the tip. You can get around this by putting your own edge on it. If you want to keep the factory bevel and are having problems try this(at aprox 2.40):

I doubt there is a difference on a sharpmaker, but I struggle with the clip point tip area on a strop. My santoku kitchen knife (blade like an Insingo) is much easier on the stop.

Totally true on the clip point.
I just slightly re profiled mine to an exact 20 per side. And that made a huge difference at the tip where it was more like a 22 convex . Making is disgusting sharp.

Thanks all! On a side note, do you all prefer the single thumb stud or dual studs (and why)?
Single. It's unique to me, and I can't open a double lug with my left hand anyway. Plus, I like the little embellishment that the backside of the lug gives.

I have both and is I had to keep just one I would keep the Insingo for sure. Mostly due to looks, but the tip on the Insingo is a bit beefier that the clip point.

The small micarta Insingo has a very strong, almost cult-like following. Like PM2 users pretty much.

There has to be a reason. I don't need one, and sold a large micarta Insingo, but am thinking on getting a small micarta Insingo just because some feel so strongly about how much they love it.

I found this older thread when searching insignia vs regular Sebenza.

Thought I would bring it back up for some more opinions. I'm interested in getting a large 21 and can't decide in the blade shape.

What does everyone think?

Thx!

Voted for the Insingo, because I have a Small Starbenza. Someday I'll order a spare Insingo blade for it.

I'd buy a Clippoint Sebenza because to me that's the most beautiful knive ever made. I've been looking and admiring Sebenzas for years (when i was a student and when i went to college) and now finally bought a "tradidional" plain small clippoint 21.

If i could only have one, it would be the Clippoint. That being said, i am saving up for a small micarta insingo right now. :-D
