Small sebenza 21 or strider pt?

I would rather my knife be made from pure titanium than titanium and plastic.. sebenza is a stronger design and lockup, the pt just has a stronger blade but that flimsy g10 scale will pop right off under any hard use

Since when G10 count as a plastic?

Ti may have better compression strength but G10 will have significant higher tension strength.

You will need much more force to permanently blend/break a sheet of G10 at the same thickness of Ti.

+1 I just got mine yesterday from knife art and they are already sold out! It's getting hard to find I don't know who else sells them besides wilson combat themselves but they are out of stock also:(

Knife Art has the large Starbenza available. Worth pursuing. The Starbenza has more character and it comes without the tacky blue thumbstud.

I will chime in and say this; very different knives. Tough comparison in my opinion. Regarding the strength of G10, that is a non starter. It ridiculously strong. To say G10 is "plastic" would be saying that a Ferrari is just an import car. Simply not in the same league as plastic. As for the statement about the "plastic side popping off under hard use", I'm sorry Sir, that is also incorrect. By design, one would have to put so much lateral pressure on that knife, the blade would snap long before the "plastic popped off".

I know many folks hate Strider. EVERY SINGLE Strider thread gets it. Seperate MS from the knife and it's a pretty good hard use knife with a lifetime warranty. You can do anything with a Strider PT that needs done with a folder in that size range.

The Sebenza is quite a bit different. For one its thinner. The tolerances are MUCH more tightly held. The small Sebenza is just more "refined".

If your office attire is 5.11 pants, an Under Armour polo shirt and Keel hikers, I'd say the Strider would probably suit you well. OTOH, if its more of a khakis and button down shirt environment, the small Sebenza would probably be more in line with that.

Please don't let the Strider haters deter you, the KNIFE itself is what it is. That said, it'll never be a Sebenza.

My vote would be for the PT. Personal preference. They are both great knives and I'm sure you'd be happy with either one.

PT all the way, iv'e got a Msc Pt all Ti and it's a tough little knife that's very light and extremely strong.... love it!

Can't imagine a small sebbie would carry any better, i just drop it in my pocket and almost forget it's even there.

While I think the PT has a higher coolness factor, I'll take the Sebenza every time. I hate knives that give up a bunch of cutting edge in favour of finger choils and really dislike the Ti/G10 handle thing. I can live with those features at a lower price point, but not up in the $300 range.

For me, PT. In an office, probably a CC. The Sebenza just doesn't feel right in the hand for me.

I
can guarantee the blade would not break before that thin piece of g10 it is less than half as thick as th ti side and maybe a quarter of the thickness of the blade

I took a second look at mine, the ti is the same as the g10 very thin

I would be less worry about either handle giving way. Most people won't stretch the folders till you need to worry about breaking the handle. The blade will most likely break first before the handle gives way.

That being said, I will go with small Sebanza. It has tighter tolerance and a slimmer profile which makes it a good EDC knife.

If you are using a PT so hard that you snap the blade or the G10 then you dont deserve to own anything more than a gas station knife. Everything has an intented and proper use and tree chopping or prying isnt proper for either the PT or sebenza. So claiming the PT is "weak" is a total cop out. I have 2 small sebs and 2 PTs and love them all and carry both equally but Stiders are much more comfortable in my hand.

Sebenza all the way. Way too many issues with Strider knives. Don't know how good the "new" lockup design is on the newer striders, but got burned by enough of them that I will never buy another Strider again. Never any issues with the tons of sebenzas I have owned.

For me it's a matter of ergos. At 3.94", the Small Sebenza's handle is just barely long enough to feel secure in my hand. At 3.75", the PT's handle is too short for comfort.

Get the one you like the best, but I much prefer the Sebenza.

I handled a PT at Blade a few years ago and was not impressed at all. It felt like a much less expensive knife than it is, and didn't feel good in hand to me.

Sebenza all the way for me. The Strider just felt weird in my hand and the tolerances of CRK knives just can't be beat.

I have owned perhaps twelve mixed small Sebs and PT's. I would definitely carry the small Seb in an office setting; the PT would be with me in the woods. They are both excellent; one's a wild chick, and the other is pretty conservative.
