Small Sebenza 21: sticky lock problem

The only time Ive experienced what you are showing is if I have flicked the knife open overly aggressively, or if I am putting pressure on the spine with my index finger while pushing on the lockbar. You only have to be slightly mor than touching the spine to cause drag, so it will be very easy to do.

I know what you mean, but it didn't matter what I did prior to having it fixed.

I guess my only complaint about frame locks in general is that you have to watch where you place your fingers to not interfere with closing.

Someone asked what CRK did exactly to fix it, which prompted me to email them again. They responded quickly (their CS is impressive).

Reportedly they re-heat treated the titanium lock face. Apparently it was too soft and "grabbing" the steel. They also, as I suspected, polished the steel side with an ultra fine ceramic stick -- probably the Spyderco one I saw them using in that factory tour video.

The latter might be a good first step as a DIY remedy (my suggestion, not CRK's).

thanks for finding out

I have the same problem with my Large Sebenza. I tried everything and finally decided to send it to CRK. At times it's just easier and simpler to do that. While it's there might as well get it all cleaned up and such.
