Small Spyderco

I want to like the smaller Spydies, and have owned a Jester, Ladybug, Dragonfly, Balance, Lava, Bug, and Micro Dyad. They are all too small, though, and I moved on to larger knives. An FRN Native, for example, takes up not much more weight and pocket size, but is much for useful.

The soon to be released (fingers crossed) Chaparral is looking pretty promising as a small gentleman's folder. I'm looking forward to getting one.

dragon fly zdp or leaf storm. dragon fly is a little more comfortable but the in my opinion the fit and finish on the leaf storm is better, not to say the dragon fly is bad.

I love the Leaf Storm. But to make the right choice, I guess you would have to ask what the knife is for, what size and if you are looking to spend a particular amount...

IMO there is no such thing as a too little Spyderco.
They do such a good job on ergo's, steel and such that a seemingly small Spydie feels and cuts like a bigger one.
And most of the time you really don't need a big blade to cut your day to day business.
We LIKE it because we are knifew knuts, but we really don't need it.

I once got by for a week with carrying only my fully serrated Ladybug III and I never felt underknifed.
Did very well in opening boxes, cutting the occasional thread or string/rope.

Only maybe for food duties.
But that's where kitchen knives are for.

My forest green g-10 dragonfly is one of the handiest (and nicest) little folders I own.

The Chaparral is out. It's an amazing little knife. If the price is not an issue, it is my pick for a smaller Spyder, hands down.

For the money it's hard to beat the new Cat mine has been excellent so far the lock up and F&F is great I feel these taiwan Spydercos are a great value for the money.

My Chicago has been my main EDC for over a month now. Like you said the fit and finish and lock up are 100%. A great small blade for the price.

I've been thinking pretty hard about getting one of the less-expensive all-steel Balances. They look pretty nifty to me, tbqh.

I have the spyderco squeak and I really like it ! it's super light,n690co steel is awesome I stropped mine and it gets and holds a very sharp edge.I like the new frn g10 look on the scales too made in maniago so a very good quality knife,I also have the Cat and the Chicago knives also very nice but I like having at least a few non-locking folders just kind of nice to have something different the prices are also reasonable.definitely get a squeak
