Well, I have to admit... I would have made a right handed sheath:) I made it for a fellow who afterwards decided he didn't want it anymore, he was a southpaw. Thusly, I have a knife available with a lefty sheath:rolleyes:

Forgot to mention, I handforged this knife from 5/8" round barstock.

I just got a knife made by Derek this week. I am new at buying custom made knives.

It shows he cared about what he sent out, the quality of workmanship is very good to me. The knife is immaculate, every joint and seam is perfect, it's solid as a rock, no scratches or defects of any kind, that means allot to me. He put some time and effort into this at a price I can afford, which again, is much appreciated by myself.

You couldn't even compare his knife to a production one, no contest DLG would win.

The swedge is not sharp, but it does come down to an slightly rounded edge. With only a small amount of effort it could be sharpened. If you'll notice in the first picture, the temper line shows that I hardened the spine back along the swedge. So if sharpened, it would hold it's edge just as well as the primary cutting edge.

Thanks for the comments guys!

I love that knife. I also visited your site and liked the pictorial section a whole lot. Taught me a thing or two, and gave me some inspiration. Thanks man!

Thanks for checking out my site! I really enjoyed putting that pictorial together, I've never taken in-progress pictures before:)

Come on guys! This knife is too nice not have an owner!

VERY nice work. Free bump for a neighbor.

I love the wharncliff blade with natural micarta.

I'll just voice what everyone else has said here...very nice design.

I think your handle shape, blade, and the thumb grooves all work really well together visually. This knife has a very nice, unique appearance to it.

I am debating buying it...
