The Yellowjacket. For the role similar to a neck knife
Specs are 3 inch blade, 7 inches overall. 1/8th inch thick. Not sure on hardness but harder than 60 from experience sharpening for 10 years with the same type of stone. One inch wide.

I got a bunch of planer blades from a mill i wokred at and the brand rep told me theyre made of high carbon high chromium, which means D series tool steel. I found D7 stamped on one so im going to say thats what they are. They hold an edge well and can take some good wacks with a 3lb mallet sideways in the vice without dying and i havnt had rust problems with regular use.
Due to the high amount of bite and rediculous sharpness im chisel grinding these edc beasts but if you prefere a v grind we can work something out.
I have Camo, pink, silver, blue/white/black paracord right now and im wrapping them. If you like the look but want some things changed just let me know whats right for you!
I have a few different point styles i will try out, tanto, drop point, sheepsfoot, ect.
these average about a four inch long one inch wide blade thats about 3/16ths thick
thanks for your support and let me know what you think.
Heres how theyre made...
I stock remove these from D7 planer blades.

Heres a rough grind after its been cut out

Sanded
Some other angles
Then i chem etch the blades with GSK (Good Shepherd knives) and Made in USA

I did some testing and thought id share. I hade a pile of muddy cardboard thats double layered. My friend dubbed it satanboard because its so mean to knives.

I used the buffing wheel to get the tape off and straighten the edge a little. It wouldnt shave for the first inch i used the most but the rest still did.

So i sheared through a piece of 1/8th steel pin stock. its not hard really but still a tough test imho. Its still stuck to the aluminum i glued to the vice

Thanks Zknife knife steel composition chart app
