Small Traditional Lockbacks

For the past three + years I have been carrying a Buck 505 Knight off and on. Here recently I have found myself drifting toward it more and more. My 505 for day to day, and the little Smidgen for fishing and outdoor work, (in conjunction with a larger knife). Yes, I have even been drifting away from my beloved Case Peanut in order to carry it. It is no secret that Buck is my favorite brand. From their Christian values, to their customer service, when you combine that with a knife that is built like a brick wall, that is a wining combination! That is always going to be something that I will support.
So I was wondering, does anyone else carry a 505 or a similar sized lockback knife?

I carried the Buck 503 which is one step up in size from the 505. They do the job well enough to carry as an EDC and forget it's there until you need it. I prefer the 112 and have the profile thinned down. makes for a nice pocket carry larger lockback.

I have a Buck 55 that I carry from time to time. Great little lockback!

I have a Camillus #2 that I slip into the pocket when I know it's adequate to handle the day's needs. I once measured the blade and it's about the same size as the 505, though the blade shape is a little different.

When I'm forced to wear dress slacks, I reach for an old USA Schrade 5OT. This is one an unexpected gift from a friend here on BladeForums and it's great to be reminded of the bond shared by this funny love of knives.

This is about the same size as a Buck 501 Squire. Carbon blade. Flat ground.

I do love the Buck 500 series but have to admit that my big XL hands prefer the size of the 500, which my favorite Buck. Just wish it was flat ground.

I drop one of the two little guys in my pocket when my regular EDC won't be welcome like weddings and funerals.

And this is an alterative version of Pinnah's Schrade 5OT just above. Schrade made these in green delrin, brown delrin, and a special run with wood scales for the Ducks Unlimited folks. There may be other versions, too. This is bigger than the Camillus 2, but still easily pocketable as it's flat.

I have to add that these are USA-made Schrade, not the current incarnation from China.

And another view of the same knife, but in a different climate:

I have a few smaller lockbacks I carry on occasion. Kershaw Corral Creek (older one still made in Japan), Puma Corporal. I just picked up this older Western 522 a short while ago. I like it just fine. And the Buck Mini Spitfire is really a good knife for the cost. Very light and slim. I apologize to the mod for the pic of a knife with a thumb hole but it's the pic I had already. If it shouldn't be here, please delete my post. Thanks!

I have never held a buck 503 or 505 but I am a fan of the 501 which I think is a great size. One of my favorite carry knives is the pinch by Canal Street Cutlery.

I'm a big fan of Bucks 503. It always seems like it's just big enough yet real easy to carry.

My dad gave me a 505 when I was in high school. I loved that knife but it flew out of my pocket on a ride at the fair. Ride was called the "Zipper" and it flipped upside down and my 505 was gone after clanking around inside the caged capsule for a minute.

My dad has carried a 503 for as long as I can remember. He gave me this 503 last year and I'm gonna do my best not to lose it on any fair rides! :) Great knife, good steel, well made and Buck is a good company. I'd like to pick up another 505 one of these days.

The 500-series are very nice knives, all sizes. (In addition to what I show above, I also have a 500 and a 501.) But ya gotta watch 'em as they seem to want to fly out of a pocket. Thin and slippery!

(The 55 is also a very good choice — I like mine a lot — but my core preference runs more to drop-points. Mileages vary.)

This thread made me go and find my small collection of small lockbacks. I used to carry them all the time, but I just got into different styles. I'm tempted to slip one into my pocket tomorrow. :)
Here's a quick and dirty pic:

Let's steer clear of holy knives, fellas. Traditionals only, please.

I have a few that find their way into my pockets from time to time. In fact it was Buck 505 that brought me to this here forum in the first place. I carry the 503 and the 55 more often than the 505 these days, but I am definitely a small lock back fan. Here is my Buck 55, which just found its way into my pocket thanks to this thread.

Just curious as to how you gentlemen carry these gentleman's knives. Simply thrown in your pocket with keys, change, etc., in a pocket slip cover, or in a pocket by itself? I have carried a 503 in the same pocket as keys and change for years, but it really takes a beating that way. Thanks for your thoughts.

Generally I throw whatever knife I'm carrying in my right front pocket along with my wallet. Sometimes I'll throw a thin guy like the buck 55 in the breast pocket of my flannel...so another knife can ride in the rfp.

Right front pocket is my knife pocket.
Keys go in left front pocket.
Watch goes in watch pocket.
Wallet in one rear pocket
Handkerchief in the other rear pocket.
Cell phone in leg pocket. (I wear carpenter jeans.)
