Small Traditional Penknife

I really like single spring Pen knives. One that I like that hasn't been mentioned is the Case Butterbean. I believe it fits your specs and they do make nice little pocket knives.

The Baby Butterbean definitely fits the requirements. Butterbeans are great for those who prefer a spearpoint main blade rather than a clip.

Thanks for all your help! Although, I will say that all your help made my decision very difficult. Ultimately i decided that my quest was only going to be completed with multiple knives. I stuck to my $75 budget and found two knives to add to my accumulation. Of course, I'm going to have to start looking for small congresses and save my money for a new conductor if they're ever released again...

First up is a Wharncliffe Mini Copperhead in blue. I'm really digging the wharncliffe blade and think it will be an awesome EDC blade. I'm also glad that it is not a heavy dye job! I love the way it fades near the bolsters. It's a solid little knife, I knocked the factory issued bur off the edge and the little guy slices like a champ.

Second up is a pattern that I hadn't really considered before, but Pete made a strong case. I was able to find a 1981 (my birth year) Case senator/Eisenhower that is in mint condition. A really beautiful little pen knife!

I think I'm going to slip the mini copperhead in my pocket for awhile and see how we get along.

Cheers! And thanks again!

Congratulations!

You've picked two very nice little pocket knives that will make great edc carry pieces. I'm sure you will love each of them. And you're right, that die job is great where it fades out at the bolsters. Character!

Good choice Toddwalla. Those are two outstanding pen knives (good lookin too). Best wishes in your "New Adventure".

I embarked on a similar search not too long ago, and unfortunality there are not enough options:) I went for the queen sleeveboard, but considered the Copperhead too. The knife makers need to give us more options!

I'm not so secretly hoping that GEC comes out with a new conductor soon!

Congrats, Toddwalla!:thumbup: Those are a couple of fine pen knives; the Eisenhower always catches my attention! :D

After this thread I'm feeling the need for a small traditional pen knife my ownself. The Case mini copperhead has been whispering my name for a while, and I've been doing my best to ignore it. And every time I go fishing with my friend Wayne, I get exposed to him using the heck out of his yella handle Buck 309 companion. Another very capable knife.
