The die grinder bits do work on titanium but they clog up fairly quickly compared to steel, I'm not sure of the type of Ti alloy that I used them on but they should be OK for finishing work.

Nathan,
I am glad to see that you got your small wheel setup working. Mine has been working great for a couple of years now. As I stated when we exchanged emails about a year ago, I used the idler from the old Kalamazoo grinder I have. Mine is setup on the left side, go figure! It does work OK but only for one size wheel. I am thinking of modifying my setup to be able to put a chuck of sorts on the end of the grinder so I may use different size sanding drums.
Admittedly I do have a Hard Core grinder and they do make an excellent small wheel setup but it is much easier doing this than going through the time of setting this up (or buying another grinder!)
I am glad that you were able to share this idea with others, that is one of the purposes of this forum. Keep up the good work!
One other thing folks if you didn't catch it on Nathan's picture is that the washers next to the motor housing are very important. It your tracking is off they prevent the belt from cutting into the housing.

But.....personally, I like DCKnives idea much better than my own!
That is a very nice looking setup. It could even be used as a horizontal grinder!

CL,thanks for the comments.Yes it can be used for a horizontal grinder.I typically use it for profiling and curves.J.L. makes one 2"x72" horizontal with a 1hp motor for about $1725.00.Dave
