Smaller Camp / Food Knife ?

The Chimera and TKK seem to be variations on a theme, and evolved from the original LUK (Light Utility Knife) that Trace was making some time ago. I came across a LUK a while back, and it, too, was a very nice knife. I presented it as a gift to a good friend of mine, to remains impressed with it. Trace's work is very nice, indeed.

I couldn't tell that from the pics. I thought the TTKK blade looked a little broader and the Chimera had a narrower tip but I guess not. Thanks for clarifying.

The low, hoarse purr of the whirling stone—the light-press’d blade,

Think it's the same, though Trace's grinds may have varied minorly from knife to knife. Having used mine for a while, I've realized that for heavier kitchen use, a straighter belly is in order. Whereas for more utility use, the current big curving belly works better.

Actally, if you want a
small, easilt portable knife
for just light tasks or food
prep, try an Outdoor Edge
Wedge or Wedge 2. I have the
Wedge and use it at home in
the kitchen constantly.
Nice, thin blade that holds
an astounding edge- and
butterflies chicken breasts
like no other knife in my
kitchen.
