Smaller fixed blades

Alan Davis makes some great small fb. He made 1 for me with a horizonal sheath. Alan does Fantastic work and is very Reasonable.

See FB for sale by knifemakers on the exchange.

That would be a great choice, but I'd really go with the stainless. Anything carbon is gonna rust up in no time in a sneaker. :D

Normally I'd agree, but since I started using a wax treatment on my leather sheathes, I can EDC carbon blades IWB in the muggiest weather with no issues. In the stock black plastic sheath the blade doesn't stand a chance, but with a bit of work no problem. Not sure about the whole sneaker thing, but it does keep it accessible, esp when seated in a car or knocked on your butt. With a thin spine and Scandi edge they make for very good utility blades.

IWB carry is wayyy different from ITS (Inside The Sneaker) carry. Unless you're wearing leather pants.

I carry my Cold steel Ti-lite as a boot knife when Im wearing my high cut pilot boots which is the majority of the time now during winter.

I'll have to take your word for that :).

I used to carry a S&W .38 in an ankle holster, as long as your sheath separates the knife from direct contact with your skin you should be in good shape. Most stock sheathes Kydex included are going to be very uncomfortable. If it were my project I'd retrofit a cheap handgun ankle holster - padded nylon or neoprene. Just about any shorter FB could be carried that way, but lighter is always better. I would definitely shy away from longer blades as that's more to pull clear before the thing comes free. If you should find yourself fighting the bunched up hem of your blue jeans that would not be good.

Why are we going with sneaker carry?
