I'm restlessly looking for a new smaller folder and welcome your suggestions.

Here's some specifications:

3.75" max closed. One hand opener. Lockback preferably but open to suggestions. Good grip and pocket clip. Steel open to suggestions. Price open. Tried the Spyderco Dragonfly, nice cutter, low cost but don't like the reverse side of the handle or the suspiciously weak clip...Looking at something from MOKI Japan but not sure where to get one.

What else??

Spyderco Kopa. A little bigger than Dragonfly, very good grip, nice cutter.

GP Knives carries the Mokis. Like you said, they look like nice knives. www.gpknives.com

A few others that come to mind, although not all are lockbacks, are:
A.G. Russell Framelock Spearpoint
Al Mar SLB
Bladetech Ganyana and Mouse
Boker Subcom and Hyper
several of the Kershaws
some of the Spydercos - I'm sure other folks will cover them pretty thoroughly
some of the SOGs - Twitch II, Blink, and Gentleman

I think the mini Grip is larger than your posted size goal. Other than several different Spyderco models, the one knife that comes to mind is the Kershaw mini-Mojito. I believe that's the one with Sandvik, although it's not a lockback, it definitely a one-hand opener/closer.

Some smaller knives that come to mind, regardless of make & lock design, are:

Spderco Navigators, Crickets, etc. (I think there's a few that are 3 3/4" OAL or less).
Boker Subcoms & Trance.
Kershaw Scallion, mini-Mojo, & mini-Mojitos.

I'm sure there's more. Personally, I think the Subcoms (Wharcom, Subclaw, etc.), are some of the best designed little knives around. I have large hands & these little guys fit well in my hand. They remind me of a folding version of a HAK. However, I do, at times, carry around a mini-Mojo with a landyard.

For a while, Cabelas had a special on the Camillus Sizzle. I snagged one and its a great little blade, takes an excellent edge, made me rethink AUS8

If you like finger choils, the Byrd Robin comes in many flavors. Well under 3-1/2".

If Chris Reeve would bring back the Umfaan we would have the ultimate small knife again!!!

Did you try the SS Dragonfly? In terms of fit and finish, it is a big step up from the FRN Dragonfly, and just got upgraded to VG-10.

Spyderco Lava should fit the bill nicely. It is small and compact but fills the hand and is built tough like the bigger SS Spydies.

Benchmade's Mini-Griptillian. I particularly like the 154cm steel...

I've been carrying this knife for quite some time and love it. The brip is awesome and the clip is perfect. The only think I'd change is the blade. I'd like to have the same knife with no serrations. I guess I'll have to buy another knife. :)

Thanks for the input!

Thought about a stainless Dragonfly but suspect the grip is poor, too slippery.

Kershaw Scallion looks interesting but can't (yet)find a supplier who will ship it to me in the EU without charging 30-40 dollars freight which is an outrage for a small knife.

The MOKI connexion still interests me as the medium lockback I just got has IMPRESSIVE fit&finish.May try to get one from Japan. Pity MCUSTA doesn't make a smaller folder, the 2 I have are top quality.

Böker seems interesting but what about the quality of the Chinese models?

Like the look of the Mini Grip but can't really visualize the size of it.Is it thick&bulky?

Spyderco Kopa could be an option too but it looks a bit odd....

Since I have an Al Mar SERE 2000 coming in today I'm going to suggest it's little brother, the mini SERE 2000. It has a 3.0" VG-10 blade, linerlock, (but Al Mar's ll's are some of the best), it is 4" closed though, and it is made by Moki for Al Mar and if anything like it's big brother then it has fantastic fit/finish. Btw, it does have a pocket clip and is a low ride pc as ALL you see is the clip when the knife is in your pocket, a good thing in my book!

There is also the Al Mar Nomad w/3.0" blade.

Spyderco Native. 3 15/16" closed, 3 1/8" blade, grippy handle, good pocket clip, excellent blade steel, excellent warranty and great price too.
