Smaller folder suggestions please?

I've been carrying this knife for quite some time and love it. The brip is awesome and the clip is perfect. The only think I'd change is the blade. I'd like to have the same knife with no serrations. I guess I'll have to buy another knife. :)

Myright--Last July I got it without serrations. It is the best pocket knife I have had in 50 years. It is only .12 of an inch longer than the guy who started this thread wanted, which is negligible by my lights.

I got leatherworker Ron Ryder (of Cutters and Collectors) to make me a beautiful slip for it, and I could not be more pleased with the combination.

Willgoy , the quality of the Boker Subcoms I have seen is very good to excellent . You have to hate those little guys a lot not to like em . Al Mar has some very ood stuff in your size range , check out their SLB .

Fallkniven U2 is the best knife at its size. It doesn't get near enough press around here. doesn't have a pocket clip though, and technically its not a one hand opener, but you can open it with one hand. If you are into modding a thumbstud could easily be added, but you can open it one handed even without.

CRK Mnandi is awesome to if you are willing to spend $350

Moving towards Mini Grip but many of your suggestions have me torn in all directions!

Don't get me wrong, the serrations come in handy I just would prefer a plain blade.

I started to carry it without the clip and just loose in my pocket until I reached down once and the tip was slightly exposed.

Benchmade, IMHO, is the best production knife available.

Hey OP - have you made any decisions yet?

a small Sebenza blade is just under 3." If price is open and you never wand to have to adjust a pivot screw again, check it out.

I'll specifically recommend the Doug Ritter mini-RSK Mk1 mini-Rittergrip - FANTASTIC KNIFE! Based on the Griptilian design, but a much nicer blade:

BM 705 (discontinued) or the 707 that replaced it. Compact knife but handles like a much bigger one.

kershaw storm,
3 inch blade,
Framelock,
reversible pocket clip,
good grip,
made in the U.S.A,
for only $40.

Sorry to harp on the same model again, but if you're worried about the slipperiness of the SS Dragonfly, they have a etched SS Dragonfly model with grippier (and perhaps prettier) scales which have been etched with a random pattern.

Aha! didn't know about THAT one:thumbup:

The Dragonfly I have is a very good compact knife but the scales do feel flimsy...

LOL, that's me in a nutshell. I am also leaning towards the mini grip but the Fallknivens (TK3, TK4 and U2) keep calling my name. All the suggestions on this forum are great but they do tend to lead to information overload!

Tracker2, I KNOW...

J.S.Carter's info on Rocket Dragons really set my mouth watering, perhaps a bit more than I wanted to spend but...
