Smaller heavy duty assisted opener?

Can anybody recommend and AO knife about the size of a Leek only more heavy duty? Lets say about a 3 inch blade? I really like my Leek, I have one that is the smooth G10/S30V and I took it apart and combined it with a normal one that I bought at Wal-mart, so it has one G10 side with a steel liner, and one solid steel framelock side. There is a thread with pics someplace.

Anyway, I'd like something about the same size, only burlier and with more snap if possible.

Just under 3", but a stout knife is the Mini Mojito.

It's built tough, AO, stud lock, and has a neat safety built into the flipper. There is a lot of edge on that little knife!

It's not assisted but the RAM is one heck of a knife and opens quick and easily with a great lock-up. I was going to suggest the ZT0350 but that has already been mentioned.

+4 on the ZT0350.

Not to derail but how do your leek ? I'm thinking of converting a s30v/G10 leek to a framelock.

The Leek is a great little knife, especially the G10/S30v version modified into a framelock. I carry it quite a bit. The blade is pretty thin, and really pointy though, so its a pretty light duty knife. I am looking for something about the same size, only beefier. ZT 0350 looks like the ticket.

I was to recommend 350 but it seems that everyone got here before me :)

ginshun, if you haven't actually looked at the 0350 beside a Leek, there's a big difference in the size of the two.

Here's 4 pics. They're lined up with the pivots even. I hope this gives you a good perspective of the size difference.

Here's a side by side of the Leek and the 0350:

Thanks for the side by side pics! 0350 is probably still within the range I am looking for. I actually like that Pack Rat that you show. I might have to check that one out.

The closest thing that comes to mind is the Benchmade Mini Nitrous Stryker. The handle on the Stryker is a bit thicker, but both blades are right around 3". Benchmade's D2 (even at RC 60-62) probably won't be as wear resistant as Kershaw's S30V, but it's no slouch either. Not quite stainless, but pretty close. The blade thickness on the Mini Nitrous Striker is 0.100"; I believe the Leek's is 0.090". The Mini Nitrous Striker is listed at 2.8 oz while your Leek (G10/stainless) is listed at 2.3oz.

In my own experience, I get more traction on the handle of the Stryker compared to the Leek (mine happened to be stainless, not G10), and the snap on the Stryker's AO is as good or better than the Leek's. Also, the Stryker happens to be the only AO knife that hasn't broken on me. Cheers.

The PackRat is a great knife. It just melts into your hand
and the blade profile is very useful. It has ( IMHO ) the best
designed liner lock out there. The AO kicks nice and the lock up
is fantastic. The liner lock has two points of contact. Against the
blade tang as well as tucked under and against the flipper it's self.

I had a chance to hold a zt350, I believe it is good for what you are asking for. Just as long as you don't mind liner locks! Even If you do, the liner is really thick so I doubt you will have any problems...There are always striders and sebenza's...
