Smallish EDC Fixed Blade Recommendations.

While I have not personally handled one, the next fixed blade on my list is the Bradford Guardian 3. Seems to fit the size range and uses M390 steel. I've seen plenty of good reviews of it from the members here.

How is it on peppers and onions?

Some good recommendations. Also would throw into the ring:

SYKCO 311. About 3.5" blade, 3/16" thick, Saber/convex ground 52100 steel, Res C handles. Very robust knife in a small package yet has an awesome handle. The handle being rubber is super comfy even in high pressure cuts. Plus its supposed to be super chem/heat resistant. This one has been with me for quite some time now. Its the kinda knife that you wouldnt have to be afraid of hurting, and its the right size to have with you all the time. I thinned mine out quite a bit to a lean convex(which I highly recommend). Edge came thick enough to slice up bricks, so it had to happen... I guess you could almost call it "bomb proof." This knife could be pushed to do whatever you want it to.

Spyderco Moran. Almost 4" blade, 1/8" thick, Full Flat ground VG10, FRN and Kraton handle, Bolatron sheath with G-Clip... Very nice knife. Have only had mine since after Christmas, but its a definite keeper. Mine is the trailing point/upswept tip version. The knife is thinly ground and is a very nice slicer. It does great carving and food prep. Big enough knife to handle whatever, in a small enough package you could have it on you whenever. The thing is ridiculously light too, and the handle is very awesome in use. Has a large finger choil/ricasso area you can choke up on if that is your thing. I am not a huge fan of finger choils, but the ratios are good enough on this knife where it doesnt matter. Picked it up cause I wanted a light, thin, low maintenance type EDC fixed blade. Couldnt be happier.

Also there is the KA-BAR Becker BK11-14-24. All awesome blades in either 1095cv, or the 24 in D2. These are highly regarded and fairly common just flat out excellent blades. Really enough said... Cant go wrong for the price... Again knives that you could have on you all the time, that can do a lot of work.... also hiding back there is my BK15, lol quickest pic I could find of the 14. Mines been modded a bit which is another great thing about the Beckers... They are an awesome platform for experimentation and modification.

There are so many great options out there, KA-BAR Snody knives in S35V, Cold steel is coming out with their Pendleton Hunter line and their Master Hunter in CPM3V. Fallkniven's F1, S1, WM1, and H1 Etc etc just to name a few. Also there are so many great custom makers on this forum that could make you exactly what your looking for... Todd Hunt of TMhunt Custom Knives, James Terrio Custom Knives, and Daizee here on the forums. SO many awesome makers! Hope this helps in some way shape or form. Happy hunting!

I just recently picked this one up.

It's made by L.T. Wright with a cutting edge of about two and a quarter inches, and over all length of six inches, so it's fairly small.

Hi Ballenxj,

Ha! Funny you should post the L.T. Wright Patriot knife. I've been looking (on line/videos) at this knife. Looks awesome! That being said, L.T. Wright's COYOTE has really caught my attention! I'm digging this one : http://cdn1.bigcommerce.com/server3...SC_5043_1__89963.1409932138.1280.1280.jpg?c=2

I was also looking at the Coyote. It would appear to also be a useful knife and the one you linked to looks great.
That is till this little Patriot caught my eye. It seems exactly what I was looking for at the time. ;)

The GSO 3.5 is definitely the overall best smaller fixed blade I've ever owned. But they are almost impossible to snag. If I were in the market for a new sm/med fixed blade I would consider pretty much nothing other than a Gravelle HUK. Specs and materials are just right and the price is even better.

Hi Ball,

No doubt you made a fantastic choice in the Patriot! Archie, I too have been looking at the GSO 3.5 fixed blade. I'm glad to hear you like it.

I kept buying small knives, and was never quite satisfied. I designed this one, and had Tim Olt make it. 3 1/4 inch blade, S30V steel. Camel Bone handle. Simply the best small belt knife I have ever seen. Pancake sheath by Larry Parsons.

I think my BlindHorseKnives Bushbabies are first uncles to your L.T. Wright and Battle Horse Knives, which once were BlindHorseKnives. All are good knives.
I did post this elsewhere, but seems fitting here also...
The GSO 3.5 by SurviveKnives is a great one also.

I have no special source for these sheathes; they came with the knives...
I gave my NIB mini Fox River to my gd-daughter; much too pretty a knife for me to carry..
I like this particular D-ring with Dangler sheath at the top; fits my pocket nicely with a lanyard to yank on...

This carry is quite discrete but practical...

...and much less "public" than this method of carry...

and more stable than this "buried sheath" method...

Survive! just listed their 3.5's for sale, both original and factory 2nds. Once you get to checkout an automatic %20 discount is applied. Now is the time to grab one

Good hint for us, Wicked. I did. I got the CPM-3V with all options...for cheap. I ordered mine earlier today, and it's my third Survive knife. Outstanding products.

Arrrrrr~~! I need more money! Too many nice knives out there to choose. I'm mostly interested in rather small fixed blade knives these "daze". I have been trying to contact/find information about WOLF CREEK FORGE (Lisa West) Bird & Trout Knife. I'm liking this one (or one like it). I'm thinking no more than 7" OAL with a 3" to 3.5" blade. I MUST have at least a 3.5" handle. https://scontent-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/h...=a9723db4c5f5c1a2b1f7bb2404072801&oe=556FDE4F
