Smartphone case knife- a novel idea

Just saw this pop up at knife center:

I-phone case with a little folder built in. Seems like a cool idea. I don't know what the quality will be like. Also not so good for someone who travels frequently by airline... I'd hate to have to take the case on and off all the time.
 
The ergonomics look terrible on that thing....

I'd much rather just carry a folder in my pocket and/or use the knife on my SAK.
 
A person purchasing such a phone case/knife should check local laws. Knives inside keys, belt buckles, pens and other items are sometimes in violation of various laws. I wonder if this case can be shipped to MA or CA.
 
So the handle stays in place and the blade swings out? Novel idea, yes. Ugly as heck, for certain!
 
I've seen those on the "coming soon" list at one of my distributors for months. Screams Mantis to me on so many levels. :p
 
Whatever floats your boat. I wouldn't be interested. I'd just carry a knife in my pocket.

Added: I wonder if this gadget is designed to hide a knife or disguise that you have one?

I'm stlil saying that handy little hole showing off the Apple logo could be used as a mighty fine bottle opener...

So now a person is going to have a beer, a phone, and a knife? That cannot end well.
 
I hope that blade has one heckuva detent. Otherwise we'll soon be seeing in the news "Man Stabbed in the Head trying to Answer Phone"
