Smartphone case knife- a novel idea

I'd prefer an Opena, personally.

That one is actually pretty cool. It reminds me of the wallet cases they make.

Looks like a decent idea, but this is not very aesthetically pleasing at all. A good way to have your wife/girlfriend have a knife on her at all times though.

i think something with like a swiss card built into the phone case would be more practical

I like the credit card / ID holder on the phone.

A more utilitarian knife in the case would be cool.

I'd still prefer the backup battery case, I had one, it didn't live long but I'd rather have an extra hour or two of phone use and a pocket knife or multi tool and wallet.

First, I must question their use of the term "tacticall". Second, I question their spelling. Did they just misspell "tactical", or did they mean "tacti-call"--as in you can make phone calls and play Angry Birds while you're being all tactical with the knife?
Third: Why? This almost beats my ballistic stapler-knife in the bad idea department.

It's just "clever" play on words that will be easier to remember when someone tries to find it.
Why? Because there are people who will buy this without thinking about it. Money. That's why it's marketed as a self defense blade and not a utility blade when it's clearly better for very light utility.

Disclaimer: Technically all opinions here are just speculation, of course.

I've seen those on the "coming soon" list at one of my distributors for months. Screams Mantis to me on so many levels. :p

Hey don't knock it. They are going to make it with 440V steel, all for under $50!

I did love my Pit Boss... Until my Sharpmaker brown stone was able to reprofiled it back by about 10° in under an hour. I think the steel was annealed.

Pretty much my thoughts. Other than the answer to the "why" question being "$$$". A part of me dies every time I realize there are people out there that will actually buy one of these under the misguided impression that it's really a serious defensive item.
