I couldn't believe it, I live in the center of the city and yesterday my rat dog was going crazy when I opened my smitty. Yep, a damn skunk between my apprentice and myself we killed that sucker. But what a lingering odor.

Get Odo ban and spray down anything that smells too bad. It works pretty well.

What'd you kill it with? Big knife? Gun? Thats half the story you left out!

Whew, man I bet that shop is ripe!!
You should save the hide and have it tanned and build a special knife and use the hide for the sheath and maybe use the tail as a thob on the butt of the knife. Would be an Indian George commem

I'd be afraid that the smell would get into the steel !! Here's a receipe I found . though I haven't tried it. 1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 teaspoon liquid soap. It's a mercaptan, that is an organo-sulphur compound . Mercaptans are also the things that make the pungent smell and flavor of the onion family.

Tell Ya, the smell isn't as bad as the after burners work when after eatting my Portuguese beans. An that smell doesn't get into the steel, just the forge a little bit.

Matt: Just a pellet gun and 1" sqaure tubing that I heated in the forge. It smelt even worst cooked.

George just killed his shop buddy! George, tomato juice is a great skunk smell neutralizer, or canned tomatoes work good, too.No joke, it works great.

It may smell bad but, there's some interesting sheath material. Too bad it wasn't a racoon. Then you could make some of that "Alabama Oosic" I keep hearing about.

Cheesel: The smell from you (BO) was finally leaving from the Hammer-In and that damn Skunk had to spoil it. Although it is not as pungent as your ordor. THANK GOD!!!!
