Smelting Magnetite into Steel

Not sure where this is appropriate, but we smelt iron ores into iron and steel, depending on what we need, for period blades and Japanese blades. I thought you guys would be intrigued by the process. Please excuse me if the posting of videos is inappropriate.

Thank you, that is very interesting. I read reading in a scientific book about biological creatures that deposit magnetite for various uses including teeth coatings to cut through hard shells and rock. The article claimed there are laboratories trying to make magnetite synthetically for use as cutting tools and armor.
 
Thank you for taking the time to view. I saw something about sea snails doing that near hydrothermal vents. Quite cool!
