Skatelite is a durable laminate material used to surface skate ramps. It's very similar to Richlite or paper micarta. This handle is upcycled from ramp material that has been used in several SE area skate parks.

grind: flandi
blade length: 4″
overall length: 9″ with extended tang
steel: 1/8″ 80CrV2 @ 61 Hc
handle: skatelite over orange G10
handle thickness: 4/5
hardware: orange G10 triple tube

sheath: Includes FDE / OD kydex belt sheath

I began making PL knives in 2016. I've done leather work for over 20. I added kydex to my repertoire in the last few years. The heat treat on all of my carbon steel knives is done by me in a thermostatically controlled Evenheat knifemaking kiln. Each 80CrV2 blade goes through a multi-stage normalization before being heated to austenitic temperature and quenched in Parks quench oil. Then it goes through a 2 stage tempering process. 80CrV2 Hardness is approx. 61 hc and my heat treat process produces a blade with extreme toughness and fine edge sharpenability. Scales are glued with West Systems G-flex epoxy. My aim is to produce heirloom quality tools with excellent craftsmanship that will provide a lifetime of enjoyment and service.

Skatelite?!?! That is pretty cool. Can you share a little on its composition & properties?
From what I understand, it is basically a weather resistant paper micarta. From the website:

"All Skatelite materials are made either with FSC-certified paper and/or post-consumer recycled paper or cardboard."

"ECO BIND RESIN TECHNOLOGY
Using a phenolic resin in the manufacturing process, Skatelite achieves unsurpassed quality in the finished product and minimizes energy consumption, with no added urea formaldehyde. In addition to reduced energy consumption, the phenolic resin has earned the EcoBind designation, indicating it is one of the lowest VOC emitters on the market."
