even though smith and wesson are known for making lower quality knives, i ordered the smith and wesson magic assisted opening folder. i really like it a lot. its a small knife, the size of a bm mini grip, but heavier. its only 40 dollars or so, and comes in a few different designs. i like the tanto one the best. if you guys are looking for something different/new and dont really have anything in particular in mind, you may want to try this one. it also comes with a safety and it comes in different colors. oh yeah! i almost forgot to mention this little knife comes with a tiny glassbreaker at the end as well! great little knife!!!

looks way better in person than in the pictures. i got the dark colored one, and its handle is much darker than in the picture, its black.

the way the knife is designed, it makes a great impact weapon/glass breaking tool when you hold it in your hand unopened. fits in the hand perfectly.

the knife handle does kinda look like a gun handle....

Since this isn't about any actual tactical uses of the knife, I'm going to move the thread from Prac Tac to Knife Reviews & Testing, where I bet it gets more discussion anyway.

The blades look gimmicky to me but the handle looks pretty solid. I like an impact-style grip.

What's so magical about it?

:D here we go!!!

How about how fast it will lose a edge?

How about making your $45 vanish?

Well that's a start anyways :D

On the real, if a custom maker put this folder out with a better quality people would be going nuts over it. And being a flipper, you can bet it would be pulling 1k plus. Its kind of funny, how things work.

its a good knife. its a winner inmop. i like it better than many knives from more popular companies that i paid more for.

heres a pic of it closed.

one thing to think about with this guy is the "flipper" is not attached to the blade so you might have to look out for legality issues where switchblades arent legal.

I don't like the knife's 3-inch blade. For the price, I'd like to see it sport a 4-inch blade. The blade steel also isn't advertised, which is becoming the case more and more these days. This thing is just a little over four inches in length, which is too small.
