Smith & Wesson pistol advice

I agree Doc. My department allowed any auto with a safety at that time and specifically trained to engage before holstering. We nev had any NDs, but we had a lot of trigger pulls with no bang because you have to disengage the safety before firing:rolleyes: We finally went to the LAPD type training that used the safety as a decocker only. Then we switched to Glocks...oh well.

I have a 4006 and a 1006. If I ever get a reasonably priced 4506 I'll be in heaven. Some people find them chunky. It just depends on what fits your hand. I've never had reliability issues with mine. They were the CHP gun for a while and if you find an armorer who still knows how to do the CHP tune-up you'll have a really nice gun when they are done. (No, I don't know what they did to them but a friend (former CHP) was delighted when a still serving armorer did his up.)

I shot a 1006 and found it pretty snappy even for a steel gun. The .40 out of a 4006 feels like a 9mm out of my G19! I heard tha CHP had some issues with their early models but that they were resolved in short order and the TSW will be thier choice for a long time to come.
