I am not sure if we already had a thread on this. If we did I could not find it. Who all is planning on attending the BCCI meeting at SMKW.
I have come full circle from going to not going and now my wife and I will be there. It should be a great time to see all you Buck Buddies and hopefully meet some new friends. Hope to see you there.
3 years ago I joined BCCI and went to the annual meeting. Last year at the meeting they mentioned the meeting at SMKW. Right then I thought I should go. I have been collecting Bucks since 1974, but I don't buy all knives some of the members here do. I am more slow and steady. My concern is that I don't know anyone, but I thought David Yellowhorse talking about Yellowhorse knives is priceless.

I will be there and look forward to it. My family is going and they are taking another car and visiting the national park. We normally camp, I think staying at the hotel with a full kitchen and swimming pools will be a nice change of pace.

I think it is great you are coming all the way from Idaho.

Dying to go but just cant make it:(

Peter, I'm sure you'll know some shortly after arriving:thumbup::D

Peter, Neither do I and thats fine . I tend to stay in my collection frame of 1961-81 yet I usually buy the 'Club Knife' and some of the fund raiser knives . Then some others as gifts like the new slip-locks . It's all fine and good . Craig, I know all you mention and have met them with the execption of Heath Stone ? Where is he from ? Was he at the 20yr. Reunion ? Also, I've noticed that most of them don't frequent this forum to discuss knives ?? Maybe they're like Richard Matheny and don't have a computer ? DM

David and all,
I bet we would be surprised how many 'lurkers' are out there, some are very well known and knowledgeable collectors.
Heath is second generation Buck Collector, specialiest in the 100 series, able to keep Joe H. insterested in conversation for good while.

Pete, my mantra is everyone there is just a friend I haven't made yet. You will find a few folks in your locale and you can start a informal GA Buck Club wing. We have a SW wing which includes the guys in TX, David and couple others in NM and a couple in CO. We email with info. and watch for special knives for each other. We keep talking about about making a showing if they would ever do a big knife show in Dallas or somewhere down here.
So don't be a wall flower. Write your BF name on your name tag. Make some computer business cards with your name, address, email and what knive you like to hand to 'new' friends............ I will do my best to entertain you for an hour or more at least.....

300, Thanks . Get all the presentations on DVD's and I'll buy the set off you . I'm hoping we'll be recieving our Heritage Knives after the shin dig . Have a great time . DM

Longbow, Which one is you ? Guess, I should look back in my newsletters as that photo was in there a while back . I'm sure the 25th will be in Post Falls . DM

Yes, it was taken in Atlanta at the Blade show . Thats Bruce Dollinger manning the table to your far right . That ones also a long 3 day drive from me just like Idaho . Well, I made that one and the kids are older now so perhaps I'll make the 25yr. if they don't have it in late July or August . When they were in El Cajon, CA. thats was perfect a one day drive . But did I make it ? NO ! The kids were younger then and still showing horses . Wish I had seen that facility . The forum here is a good fit for me . DM

I ordered one of the Heritage knives that are just for this meeting. Since I just ordered one I was thinking I would get it before the meeting. Jack Foresman mentioned if you ordered the set, he would bring them to the meeting.

So, did anyone get a Heritage knife yet? Maybe Jack will bring individual knives there too, to save on shipping? I got the 532, I don't have a 532 yet and getting one with S30V steel seemed like the way to go.

Also, thanks for the comments about not knowing anyone, I look forward to meeting some new friends.

All,
The knives have now arrived and will be distributed (and sold) at the Smokey Mountain Rendezvous. After the show, knives needing to be mailed to buyers will be packaged and addressed. We are very pleased with how this project turned out. If you have not ordered a set (or individual models), this is a good time to get on the mailing list. I think the individual models will make fantastic gifts for non-collectors. While they certainly have collector value, they are designed to be first-rate using knives. i encourage you look at the materials for support that position.
