SMKW sells fake Sebbie

Never underestimate idiocy -- it never rests.

I kinda like that...A little like my sig.

Are these the same idiots on cable tv selling crap knives at night? If they are, I wish they would bring back "The Whitehouse Sword" I have never laughed so hard in my life. If you haven't seen it, google it..

Imitation - Buck Knives has seen it for decades.

Yeah, but the wierd thing is that this one's being offered by a real dealer, not some sketchy eBay seller.

So what is SMKW supposed to do? Say, "Sorry, your kife looks like another knife maker's knife. We're not going to sell it."? Fact is, this sort of thing has no impact on CRK's business, because the type of person that is going to pay $6 for a knife is not the type of person that will pay $400 for a knife. In other words, the folks buying these knives are not CR customers.

Even though it's a cheap knock off, just buy one and send it to Chris Reeve and he will probably refurbish and it will come back just like a brand new Sebbie... :D

While I agree that it is SORRY on the part of some company to steal the design and looks just to cash in on CR's success, and I wish SMKW wouldn't sell them, they do sell a high quality product in the store (their catalogs don't reflect the higher line stuff though). Sadly the knockoffs are a part of this world.

Also, the last time I was there they seen my buddy's wallet badge and gave him (and me) and 10% discount off our purchase (LEOs).

I've looked at Entreks, Zero Tolerance knives, Benchmade, Wilson Tactical and higher end stuff in the store.

If selling the $9.00 knives to them to the guy in the NASCAR "driver" jacket smoking the Tahoe cigarettes in the parking lot keeps the ZTs coming to me for a discount, then so be it... :D

Just wanted to semi-defend SMKW... ;)

I say that knife looks nothing like a sebenza. If you can call that a sebenza copy, I could say my bradley alias 2 is a sebenza copy, or any framelock with a drop point blade.

C'mon man, I own a Sebenza and an Alias. Bradley even went as far as to give it a blue thumbstud. Yeah the scales are shaped a little different but...

I have always had good luck with SMKW and even if they sell some crap so what ?Tell me what catalog or B&M store only sells the best of the best and who gets to pick the best ? If you are thinking that is a sebbie then you will be fooled into so many fake products you wouldn`t have money left to buy crappy knives. Remember "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" just as long as you don`t try to say your knock off crap is the real deal I don`t care ,everyone needs a first junk knife to begin the road to finding quality.

Been there many times, they have some good knives for sell but for the most part the store is a tourist trap. The owner seems to be good friends with Frost and sell tons of Frost brand knives.Cool Store if you know your stuff but it is set up to take the unknowing tourist.Don't bother asking any person there working the counters a question, they do not know much and from my dealings with them most will make up what they do not know.

it looks like some of the sanremu knives that ive seen. Sanremu seems to be a design stealer which produces low quality copies of nice knives.

thats just a little piece of crappy crap. :(

I don't get the problem - it's a seven dollar bit of junk

CRK are not going to lose out :D

I'm sure the Masons would be p*ssed off if they saw that knife as well. In fact that may be why it's no longer in their catalog. :thumbdn:
