I just received a message from Yangdu.

She got a call yesterday and was told Kumar was seriously hurt making a knife. Apparently the blade flipped while polishing and cut his forehead and during this he got electricuted during the buffing process.

He said he is ok and she figures it will take a few weeks for him to get better. He's thankful of course that he did not get killed.

In true Auntie form she sent him medical treatment funds (remember the Kami Medical Relief Sheaths?) still at work along with some money from her personal account. She takes good care of her people.

He's a good worker and a great Kami.

Please join us with some smoke an prayer for his quick and full recovery.

Rounding up on purchases as many of us do when we can afford it also helps keep that Medical Fund alive.

Thanks folks.

Horrible news, but glad he is alive and recovering.

I will pray for your thorough recovery Kami Kumar

Oh my, that's terrible. We're all hoping for a speedy recovery. Really goes to show he easily one can be hurt doing this, and how it's usually either a little cut, or something far worse.

Tonights smoke will be for Kumar.

Glad you posted this...and a buffer will grab whatever and throw it right through you or anything else....i am more worried as to the electrocution and hope he did not suffer serious burns, nerve or heart damage....i have no idea how long a jolt he received or if others had to pry him off.....i have worked with 20,000 v transmitters where it was death to touch the antennae during tests in shop as well as some spots inside the box, key the transmitter and it would light up a fluorescent tube held in your hands.....we had a rescue board with DRY ropes and wooden crooks if someone got stuck....but lightning would come out of those and blow a hole in your leg going to ground and we had more than a few incidents and so quite familiar with his injuries and hope effects are minor and, as i told Yangdu yesterday, that a cardiac unit or someone who knows CPR nearby until heart rate gets back to normal...this also a kami with no piecework income while he is down and probably loans to make bills in meanwhile so i will be sending a donation to him on next check....
