Smoke and Prayers for Roger Smith

It's common for those in the helping professions to pour their hearts into something, then find themselves treated as disposable as a used kleenex.

The guys on the line are there because they want to be, not in a supervisory capacity.

The supers are there to build their little empire.

We had an MBA running about six county's Substance Abuse programs and hiding and sending in outright fraudulent paperwork until he got them into such an uproar the whole state's SA programs got put under the Mental Health division. He should have got put in prison for what he'd done, but apparently got out of Dodge into another region before the evidence got pulled together.

Then of course it was the state SA Division people that got blamed.

I think the field is full of fraud and corruption. As you say, Rusty, there are those who care a great deal, and there are the others that make it very difficult to help.
