Well folks your prayers must have helped some.
Dad had NO mass in his lung. Apparently the doctor flunked X-ray reading 101. Just nothing there. Or it was there and now isn't.
There is a very large aneurism in the Aorta behind the heart. There's a doctor at NC Memorial Hospital just 1 1/2 hours from here that's one of the foremost in the country in less-invasive repair of aneurisms. Basically they take a rolled up fabric sleeve, insert it in the artery in the leg, or in Dad's case, through a small incision in the abdomen, run it up inside the artery to the right place, and anchor it top and bottom. It seals the aneurism off. 3-5 days in the hospital instead of cracking the chest, laying everything out on the operating table and repairing the artery. Still serious, but much easier on the patient. Dad has his done December 15th.
