My latest PSK project uses a MOLLE smoke canister pouch. It holds more than I imagined. I started with some hard plastic containers inside the pouch, but they were too limiting. I ended up using an Aloksak for the smaller and water-sensitive contents. It is a step up from an Altoids tin and can be carried in a coat pocket or on a strap or belt. As with an Altoids tin kit, it leaves me short on a water container and makeshift shelter like a space blanket or poncho. The particular pouch I found has one vertical strap with a snap and one hoizontal strap, sewn in place. On a MOLLE rig, it would lace through and not depend as much on the snap to hold it in place as it would as a simple belt loop. I glued the snap in place keep it secure on my belt. It is 6" tall and about 3" diameter. Weight as pictured is 12.2oz/345g.

I think this would be a good kit to drop in a hydration pack with a small bivy sack style space blanket, [insert knife of choice], and the rest of the recommended essentials.

Here's the contents list:

MOLLE smoke canister pouch:
Cyclops Atom headlamp

I like it!

There is something on the lanyard between the two spy capsules- is that the duct tape, or is this an urban/wilderness kit and that is a thumbdrive?

Man, good stuff. Im thinking Im going to pick up a new possibles kit tomorow, I want somehting a little bigger, but still compact enough that I dont mind carrying.

Do you have a mirror in there?

The red cylinder next to the whistle is a spy capsule. Moving left, there is a Buck mini-tool in a rubber case with #7 Exacto knife blades. The silver cylinder is a "peanut" liquid fuel lighter. The duct tape is the flat silver pack next to the pen.

No, and I'd like to work on that. Mirrors tend to be thicker and heavier than I think is needed. I've been waiting for a deal on the Adventure Medical model --- its the lightest one I've seen so far.

Next size up is an M16 double magazine pouch. You can get a lot of stuff in one.
