This is my first request for smoke, prayers, and thought here or on any forum. But it is very important to me, so here it is.
Last week, a close friend's father died suddenly. Heart attack and slow response killed him. Great shape, out of nowhere. He was an incredible guy, and the abruptness of death sets a chilling precedent for the following.
A very dear friend of mine has had something similar happen. Earlier today, his daughter heard a thud and found her daddy convulsing on the floor. She started CPR and called 911. Immediate response, thank God, and immediate helicopter to the hospital. He had to be shocked 3 times to steady his hearbeat. Not arrest, just arhythmia (sp?.).
And now he's in the hospital, still unconscious. It wasn't a heart attack, because the cath. tests showed no blockages and his heart is completely alive. CTs showed no hemmoraging in the brain, so not a stroke. He is now stable, even though they're really not sure what happened. Really the question now would be how fast they restored oxygen to his brain. Only time will tell, I guess.
Guys, he was one of the greatest people I have ever known. A jokester, witty to the hilt, he could light up a room and make everyone happy. I know that to him, brain damage would be worse than death.
The next few days (even hours) will make all the difference. If he doesn't pull through in that time, it becomes exceedingly unlikely that he ever will. Please, guys, lend a concentrated thought to my close friend, Grant Dyer. Burn a stick of incense for him, pray to whatever diety or lack thereof you see fit. I know he'd appreciate it. I know I'll appreciate it.
You all know as well as I do the power of support. In this, his hour of need, please help. It won't go unnoticed.
Thanks and take care,
Nam
