Smoke, prayers, puja requested

Steve,

My mom's 86 and has had it done 4 times. It's helped a lot each time, and the technology has come a long way since the first one.

Best of luck to your dad.

Come to think of it my brother just had this done a couple of months back and it helped a lot. Not the end by any means.

My father just had this done also. Stressfull time but it worked out fine. I hope that all goes well for you and yours.

He's a tough old bird but this thing has him spooked

Hardest thing for a "tough guy" to face is situations where he has to take a passive role and relinquish full control to someone else. To put it in my southern vernacular, "it's a gator he cain't wrassle". He'll be fine, just help him be patient and not try and get back on the horse too soon. If anything, he should come out of this feeling much improved. Keep us in the loop on how he's doing Steve, your dad is in my prayers.

The heart cath showed 5 blockages. 50,60,60,90,100% blocked. Bypass surgery tomorrow. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. Don't think it's my dad's time to go yet. Docs give him 90% chance of good recovery.

after the surgery. He will feel 20 years younger and more energetic, IIRC. Remember to tell him: No Red Vettes and Young Blondes!

I will keep praying.
hang in.

Prayers ongoing Steve. I remember the wild drive I made from Miami to Jacksonville, Florida when I got a call that my dad had had a heart attack. Even though I admit to maintaining a pretty reckless rate of speed, that was the longest 325 miles I ever drove. In hindsight, I was a hell of a lot more scared of losing him than he was of going if it was his time, which it thankfully wasn't. I'm sure that things will
work out fine with your dad, but I understand the stress and worry you're faced with. Take care of yourself man, you're in my prayers too.

Steve -
Smoke still going up. Just as an aside, they did a triple bypass on me after close to the same readings. I was told NOTHING except that a bypass was necessary - while I was "resting" they called the boys in on emergency leave. Then, after the second after surgery check-up, I was told I was good for "possibly" 4 to 5 years before I would need another one. That was twelve years ago, and I've outlived one of the cardiologists (so far). Attitude isn't everything, but it IS the first thing, and much of what follows falls in line with that. My boys stayed tight with me, and that was of immeasureable value.

I plan on making sure the cardiologists don't survive long ( a week ought to be long enough - know any "interrogators" on the Amnesty International list I could hire? ) if I have anything to say about it.

Pop had a quadruple bypass Friday morning. The operation went well and we were greatly relieved until he had a heart attack in ICU. The damage may not be severe and recovery may be possible, so we're thankful. Today he pulled his breathing tube out on his own, and was breathing ok, so the nurses left it out. He talked to us and was about 90% lucid, so he had me beat by about 10%.:) Not out of the woods yet, but we're very hopeful. Thanks for all of your prayers, they're working.

Steve,
Hope everything goes well with your Dad. Try not to worry. (easier said than done :(. ) My Uncle had that stuff done and it seemed to really help him a lot.
Take care,
Mike

Steve, I just saw this thread. Your father and the rest of your family will be in my thoughts.
