Well, it has gotten worse, so hopefully it'll get better soon. My first paycheck (it bounced the first time it was submitted) just bounced again on second submission, so now I'm over $400 overdrawn on my account.

All in all, he owes me over $1600 for back pay and NSF fees. I'd love to maintain some hope that he'll come through, but all indications are he's stalling... trying to figure a way out for himself.

I am applying to every newspaper photographer/layout job I can find. The last time it took four months to get a job. I'm praying that this time it'll be quicker. In the meantime, if I can get up to a safer neck of the woods, I'll deliver pizzas.

Khuks for sale... actually, yes I do have some that Walosi left me. I haven't identified any of them yet though. If it comes to that, I'll post them in the exchange forum. I'm going to end up having a huge (well, not too huge as I don't have much) garage sale soon too. I can only take so much in the Caravan.

NSF?

try depositing again... if that doesn't work, grab what you can (any personal gear/etc that's yours), and get out. detatch, but don't let the booger alone. call him. demand a MO for payment, report him to the various employment agencies, do not let him slither away or get slack CYA.

in some cases, i think you could "sell" your check to a collection agency, they'd go after him for you, and you'd walk with SOME money at least. i don't know what's involved with a lien, but you could attempt that, and get in the "paid first line" before he can maybe try to go bankrupt. i'm sure there are some good tricks for this.

in the meantime, i'd be using whatever resources the office might have to your benefit, if you can. make copies of resumes, use the phones to make calls, like that. SOME companies actually encourage this for departing employees.

Things are taking a turn for the better :) Got my money today... he came through at the end of the day and informed us he's shutting down the business. Cool. As long as I get my money.

I even got a good feedback on an application and should know more next week. The dog and I might come out of this smelling okay.

Thanks again for the prayers/smoke. I KNOW that works. We ain't out of the woodshed yet, but at least it quit rainin...
