sorry to hear that spikedog. i have had to put down 4 of my dogs over time and it is never easy, i just take heart that i know they will be in a better place.

You have to do what's best for the little guy if he isn't going to get better. Don't let him suffer. It's never easy.

I know how dogs can really rake you over the coals emotionally. Prayers sent. Bobby Craig, you are a real piece of work. Humor is an art form, it requires an artist. This you are not.

Now since I see your actually serious I must say I am sorry to hear of your dogs sickness. I have a Chiwawa and its one of the best dogs I know of. They are very smart dogs and a real part of the family. I am very sorry to hear you may be loosing it.

We also need to remember that death is a part of the cycle of this life that we live. All thing will die so just remember that your dog had its place in time and it was to be injoyed and its passing thow sad is not meant to hurt.

what ever...

Spikedog, I feel for ya! I am in the same boat with my Boarder Collie. :(

You need to do what is best for your dog and best for your family.

It is hard to put a dog down.

It is harder to go thousands of dollars in debt to prolong a dog's suffering for a few more months.

Smoke and prayer sent for the wee dawg.

Thanks, sorry for posting in the wrong forum.

We are quite for the night. a few steroids and pain stiff.

I'll prob pick him up tommarrow.

Again thanks, this is first time I gave confided in you.

Jim

Having gone through that decision too many times my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Focus on the dog and it's quality of life. That will enable the right decision and the timing of it.

Sorry to hear about your dog spikedog, I wish I could come up with some comforting words, but the loss of a pet is something that time will be better suited for healing, and not my ramblings.

I'm sorry that you and yor family have to make this decision. Rest assured knowing that you can help take away the little fella's pain and give him some rest. Make sure everyone spends some quality time with him tonight.

Spikedog just keep in mind it ain't about you its about the dog (or human for that matter). Don't postpone your emotional trauma prolonging their physical ones.
My dogs are healthy but getting on in years I only dread health problems with my son more than I do the day I may have to put one of the dogs down.
Good luck and smoke sent from Kentucky.

Very good news -- he's home and actually getting up. The Doc said my dog has a disc problem in his neck. The disc must have become inflamed and completely paralyzed him. We originally thought he was overheated and treated him for that at home. When he didn't get better I got him to the emergency vet in the middle of the night. The vet that was there was not experienced enough to treat or diagnose him until the regular vet came in. I'll tell you, that wait was hard -- she didn't give us much hope and we all expected and prepaired for the worse.

Thanks again for all the kind words and thoughts,

Jim
