This sounds good to me! Congratulations to the three of you, coming through a difficult time. Keep smiling -- the little guy doesn't know much yet, but he will recognize a smile!

My prayers for a healthy, happy kid, and a quick recovery for his mother. YOU have the easy job: take good care of them. :D

Smoke and prayers from Reno

Glad that things are going better Dave. Sounds like you should be able to focus on nothing but the positive soon.

thanks guys, playing surrogate mom and home nurse has been trying but we're making progress. baby isn't gaining weight and is slightly jaundice but we just started on the right path.

thank you God for creating Red Bull.

Babies generally lose weight the first few days, and the fiber optic blanket will clear the jaundice right up.
All the best to you and yours
Jorge

Jaundice is not uncommon in newborns. Sometimes it takes a little while for the baby's liver to get up to full speed in processing a substance in the blood called bilirubin. I remember a couple of ours having a yellowish tint, especially in the eyes. We were advised to put them in sunlight for brief periods to help with the process. It cleared up in a matter of days.

As far as rest goes, the most common advice was "sleep when the baby sleeps." Good luck and best wishes.

Eric
