Smoke requested for a friend's family

from CA. RichardAllen, honesty is always appreciated. I hope peace comes quickly for your Mom's friend.

Smoke, bro. I know what it's like to get bad news, but I also know how much the support of good people can mean at those times. Smoke.

My sincerest apologies to everyone here for my delay in thanking you all for your thoughts and prayers.

And a special thanks to my very dear friend Hugh for his prayer call.

My father has returned home from the hospital after receiving eight doses of radiation to shrink the tumors in his head. Thanks to God and to some terrific care providers from the VA hospital in Charleston, my father’s mental faculties have returned to normal as, initially, he was disoriented, confused, and could not walk, speak, hear, or see, properly. He has since begun chemo treatments to stop the growth and/or spread of the tumor in his lung. So far, other than some relatively minor side-effects from the various meds he is taking, he has had very few ill effects from the chemotherapy. Emotionally, too, he is doing extremely well. My father is not a religious man and does not believe in an afterlife and, therefore, has no great fear of death. He has expressed a reasonable fear of pain and also a rather selfless concern for the people he has spent his life caring for and whom he will soon leave behind.

Thanks to your prayers, God has given my father, myself and my family a few more precious days to enjoy the lives we share with one another. I am eternally grateful to you all and I pray that my blessings become your own.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

:)

Smoke & Best Wishes. Lost a lifelong friend, way too young, way too early at the age of thirty five to cancer. I still miss him. He died back in 94. He had a real tough go.
Treatments are much better today. Hope and Strength.

So good to hear forom you, QE. I am happy for you all that things are going as well as can be expected for your Dad. I and those at Langley Hill continue to hold you and your family in the Light.

Hugh

Glad to hear things are going well! I know how effective radiation can be. I just finished my round of radiation on Tuesday, and it has worked great. The things they can do now are amazing. Never lose hope.

Smoke and prayers.
My Father-In-Law has been battling liver cancer for a few years now that had spread from his colon a few years before that. Prayers work. He is as healthy as can be expected with only a few side effects from the chemo. He knows he won't last forever, but he's 62, retired and traveling with MIL, has seen both his kids married, his grandson born, etc. If it hadn't been for great medical care as well as tons of smoke and well wishes, he probably would not have seen half of those things.

Once again, massive smoke and prayers from Indiana.

Jake
