Is there REALLY a smoked mother of pearl knife handle material out there ?????

I may be wrong, but maybe it's an incorrect reference to Black Lip Pearl.

I may have been sold a "bill of goods" several years, when I pought a queen cutlery penknife with "smoked mother of pearl" handles. Yes there is a similarity to black lip pearl, but I was told that Queen cutlery holds the secret to this m"Smoked" variety. Think I was hoodwinked??? Thanks in advance to any replaies ...ncrowner
