Took the family on a four day vacation to the tourist traps in the Pigeon Forge area. On the last day I got to drive through the park. Didnt have much time to get out and explore.

Saw a few deer.

But I wanted Bears. It was time to leave. I discovered an unpaved road up a mountain leading out of the park. Being I was in a four wheel drive , I chose that path. Not another vehicle anywhere. Half way up was a Bear with cub. Could not get a pic of the little one.

A little later another bear crosses the road . It had a sibling.

And up the hill was mom. She wouldnt pose for the camera.

That made my trip. The odds of seeing one is slim:). I saw five.

I was gonna say good thing you were in a vehicle. I wouldnt not have felt so comfortable being around momma outside of one. great pics.

You got some really wonderful pictures here! Thanks for sharing these on this thread.

They all look like some very healthy animals. Its good to see they are all really enjoying and thriving in their habitat.

I was standing on the running board . I wasnt about to try and get closer pics. That last bear was huge.

Cool pics 'Ol Bud  I just got back from the same place. I was there from last Fri.~Mon. I didn't get a chance to go up into the park :grumpy: I did hit SMKW 2 times :D Wish we could had meet up !

Cool pics - that's such a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors. I've never seen a bear in the wild let alone that many at one time.

Thanks for sharing.

Best place to see a bear: Bladeforums.

It's great to see them "at home" especially when they aren't bothered by you stopping by. :)

Dang, I would cry if I had to stay in Pigeon Forge and not go into the park. My wife and I are actually headed up there for a few days next week and plan on spending every minute we can in the park. :)

It's our anniversary, so we're getting a cabin instead of doing the tent thing like normal. I'll be sure to bring back some wildlife pics if I see any interesting critters.

Storl ,Those bears were seen on Rich Mountain road off of Cades Cove. . A seven mile one way road out of the park. Its an unpaved road but not to hard to drive on. It will be a long drive back but worth it. Theres hiking trails up their also.

I stopped there also. Escaped only spending twenty dollars. Picked up two Moras to see what all the fuss is.
