SMOKINGHOLE KNIVES

My question on the top folder in the pictures is how can the blade be bigger then the handle according to the specs. Or was I just reading it wrong.

Strider -

No, you weren't reading it wrong. After a little measuring on the picture and a little math, it seems that they are measuring from the very back of the thumb ramp on the back of the blade to the tip of the blade. Novel approach, no?

That is indeed a novel approach to selling a folder. I guess for the money they are asking they want you to be assured your getting every bit of knife you ordered LOL.

Whitebear,

A purely emotional response can be just as wrong as a purely logical response. A logical response punctuated by emotion is the best answer.

How could you see them? All I got was a dim picture against a black background.

David -

I think that is exactly what Tagore is saying.

Whitebear,

Yes, you're right, I had a purely emotional response

I called Alan Harris of Smoking Hole and asked him about the "Mantis" Folding knife he told me that they are still in the production stage and still making small changes and improvements and that changes are going to be made to the web site information and that some minor mistakes were made. The dimensions are:
closed length: 5.560"
blade cutting surface: 4.412"
Back of locking notch to tip: 5.200"
overall length: 9.740"
